About us!

inzource is one of Australia's leading companies that are dedicated to producing and supporting free and open source software. We are positioned for future growth, and aim to provide accessible open source solutions for all Australian people and organisations.

By offering subscriptions to support and training services, inzource is able to help customers in using not only the open source software that comes from inzource, but from other providers as well, such as Ubuntu Linux and CentOS.

inzource is growing to become a highly recognised brand in Australia's Open Source software market, especially in the areas of support and training.

Our focus is on the development and marketing of GNU/Linux-based operating systems and open source application software for Australia's technology users.

Our research projects

inzource is proud of it's tradition of supporting active research
in the development and evolution of new GNU/Linux software and new ideas.

backpack

backpack is a package manager (amazingly, written in PHP, and compiled with Roadsend) that operates somewhat like other "traditional" package managers, apart from the fact that the database of installed packages is done with either sqlite or MySQL. All actions to the system are recorded, and because of that, can be reversed, somewhat like System Restore in Windows.

makepkg for Debian / Ubuntu

Many people like the PKGBUILD and FRUGALBUILD methods of creating packages in ArchLinux and Frugalware (respectively). We ported Frugalware's makepkg scripts to be able to build Debian (.deb) packages. See the project on ShareSource »
